This is a private short stay package for the independent traveller.
DAY 1: ARRIVE BEIJING
Make your own way to your Beijing hotel. This evening you will sample the delicious local delicacy, Peking Duck. (D)
DAY 2: BEIJING
Walk through Tiananmen Square, passing Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum before entering the Forbidden City. Visit the Hutong area and enjoy a rickshaw ride to meet a local family for lunch in their home. This evening walk along Wangfujing Street where you can sample local delicacies. (B,L,D)
DAY 3: BEIJING
Visit China’s most famous attraction, the Great Wall. Later, explore Maliandao Tea Street for tea-tasting. (B,L)
DAY 4: BEIJING TO XIAN
Fly to Xian. Visit the Muslim Quarter and see the spices and trinkets. This afternoon enjoy a dumpling cooking class. This evening enjoy a traditional Shui Jiao Dumpling banquet while watching a music and dance performance dating back to the Tang Dynasty. (B,D)
DAY 5: XIAN
Visit the UNESCO World Heritage listed Terracotta Warriors and Horses, one of the most significant archaeological discoveries of the 20th Century. (B,L)
DAY 6: XIAN TO CHENGDU
Fly to Chengdu and participate in a Sichuan cuisine cooking class. This evening enjoy sumptuous Sichuan cuisine for dinner. (B,D)
DAY 7: CHENGDU TO SHANGHAI
Visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Later, fly to Shanghai. (B)
DAY 8: SHANGHAI
Enjoy a dim sum cooking class. Sightseeing includes the Old Town, the Yu Gardens and the Bund. This evening you will feast on a Shanghai banquet dinner. (B,D)
DAY 9: SHANGHAI – CHONGMING ISLAND
Drive to Chongming Island. Visit a small fishing village. Try your hand at catching your own fish and enjoy lunch at a local farmhouse. (B,L)
DAY 10: DEPART SHANGHAI
After check-out this morning your arrangements end. (B)
