Guilin is a riverside city located among many karst limestone peaks. Yangshuo is a small town situated on the Li River and is also surrounded by countless limestone hills. Longji is home to many minority villages and is famous for the ‘Dragon’s Backbone’ terraced rice fields that are built into the hillsides. Travellers to Longji should be in good physical condition.
This is a private short stay package for the independent traveller.
DAY 1: ARRIVE GUILIN
Make your own way to your Guilin hotel. The rest of the day is free at your leisure.
DAY 2: GUILIN TO YANGSHUO
Relax on a cruise along the Li River as you travel to the town of Yangshuo for an overnight stay. (B,L)
DAY 3: YANGSHUO TO GUILIN
Enjoy a morning visit to the colourful local markets before returning to Guilin where you will visit the Reed Flute Caves. (B)
DAY 4: GUILIN - LONGJI
Travel to Longji, also known as Longshen or the ‘Dragon’s Backbone’. Explore the beautiful rice terraces that cling to the steep hillsides. To fully appreciate the beauty of this area, you will need to hike for approximately 2-3 hours, climbing many steps and across uneven ground to reach the impressive viewpoints. (B,L)
DAY 5: DEPART GUILIN
After check-out this morning your arrangements end. (B)
