DAY 4: UDAIPURThis morning you will visit Sahelion Ki Bari, the Folk Museum and Mewar Art Gallery. You will also visit the City Palace and wander through the local streets and shops. This afternoon relax on a cruise on Lake Pichola. DAY 5: UDAIPUR TO JODHPURDrive to Jodhpur stopping at Ranakpur en route, the largest temple complex of the Jain religion in India. DAY 6: JODHPURThis morning visit Mehrangarh Fort and the museum located in the Umaid Bhawan Palace. Take an auto rickshaw to a local restaurant for lunch Followed by a walking tour through Subzi Mandi, the local vegetable and spice market. DAY 7: JODHPUR TO JAIPURLeave Jodhpur and drive through the colourful countryside of Rajasthan to Jaipur. This afternoon shop at the local bazaar in Choti Choper located inside the walled city. DAY 8: JAIPURStart with a photo stop at Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds) before visiting Amer Fort. This afternoon visit the City Palace and Jantar Mantar. This evening watch a traditional dance performance while enjoying dinner. DAYS 9-11: JAIPUR TO AGRAJanuary to May – Via RanthamboreTravel to Ranthambore National Park, one of the prime examples of Project Tiger’s conservation efforts in Rajasthan. This afternoon enjoy a canter safari. Tomorrow you will have a morning and afternoon canter safari. The following day, board your train to Bharatpur. Upon arrival drive to Agra stopping at Fatehpur Sikri en route. September to December – Via BharatpurDrive to Bharatpur for an overnight stay. Tomorrow, visit the fortified ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri. Later, visit Keoladeo National Park and enjoy an evening rickshaw safari. The following day, drive to Agra. DAY 12: AGRAEarly this morning view the Taj Mahal as the sun is rising. Later, visit a marble inlay workshop and Agra Fort. DAY 13: AGRA TO KHAJURAHOAfter breakfast, board the Shatabdi Express train to Jhansi. From here, continue by road to Khajuraho stopping in Orchha en route. This evening enjoy a cultural dance performance. DAY 14: KHAJURA HO TO VARANASITour the famous Western and Eastern groups of temples in Khajuraho. This afternoon fly to Varanasi. Take a rickshaw to the ghats of the River Ganges to witness the Puja ceremony of Ganga Aarti. DAY 15: VARANASITake an early morning boat ride along the River Ganges followed by a city tour of Varanasi. Later this afternoon visit the Buddhist sites at Sarnath, where it is believed Buddha delivered his first sermon. DAY 16: VARANASI TO KATHMANDUTransfer to the airport for your flight to Kathmandu, Nepal. The remainder of the day is free at your leisure to acclimatise to the higher altitude. 18 days India OnlyTour participants who do not wish to travel to Nepal will leave the group in Varanasi on DAY 16 and fly to Delhi for an overnight stay and depart Delhi on DAY 17. The morning is free at your leisure on DAY 17. After a late checkout, (except Adelaide passengers) transfer to Delhi airport. Arrive in Australia the following day, DAY 18. DAY 17: KATHMANDU – PATANThis morning visit the Dakshinkali Temple. Later, tour the second largest city in Kathmandu Valley, Patan, Including the UNESCO World Heritage listed former Royal Palace. See Patan's unique architecture and the lively Durbar Square. DAY 18: KATHMANDUVisit Kathmandu’s Durbar Square and the Kumari Temple. Later you will explore the Swayambhunath Stupa, Bodhnath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple. This evening wander through Thamel Market. DAY 19: KATHMANDU TO DHULIKHELThis morning drive to Dhulikhel, stopping at the UNESCO World Heritage listed temple of Changu Narayan en route. The temple is the oldest in the valley dedicated to Lord Vishnu. In Dhulikhel you will visit traditional Newari houses and browse the local market. DAY 20: DHULIK HEL TO KATHMANDULeave Dhulikhel and return to Kathmandu. Visit the 9th-century-built town of Bhaktapur en route full of mediaeval art and architecture, including the Golden Gate at the Palace of 55 Windows. This evening enjoy a performance of traditional Nepalese dancing. DAY 21: DEPAR T KATHMANDUThis morning you will be transferred to Kathmandu airport to board your overnight flight to Australia.
