TOUR ITINERARY

This is a private short stay package for the independent traveller.

DAY 1: ARRIVE VIENTIANE

Upon arrival at Vientiane airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Tour the city this afternoon, visiting Wat Si Saket, Vientiane’s oldest temple, That Luang Stupa, the most revered shrine, Patuxai Victory Monument and the Laos Revolutionary Museum.

DAY 2: VIENTIANE TO KHONG ISLAND

After an early breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Pakse. Upon arrival, transfer to the pier to board your boat to Champassak, located at the border of Thailand and Cambodia. Travel by road to the Khmer ruins of Wat Phou and enjoy an elephant ride at Phou Asa Hill before continuing to Khong Island. (B,L)

DAY 3: KHONG ISLAND TO PAKSE

Enjoy a boat ride along the Mekong River, through the Si Phan Don area. Later, walk through the local villages and countryside to the Liphi Waterfalls before returning to Pakse. (B,L)

DAY 4: PAKSE TO LUANG PRABANG

Fly to Luang Prabang (via Vientiane). This afternoon visit Wat Mai, walk through the Old City to Wat Xieng Thong, which dates back to the 16th Century, and climb Phousi Hill for panoramic views of the city. (B)

DAY 5: LUANG PRABANG

Rise early this morning to view the Buddhist ceremony of Takbat. Visit the National Museum and take a boat ride along the Mekong River to the Pak Ou Caves. After lunch, travel to Tham Ting and Tham Phoum. This evening watch a Ramayana performance. (B,L,D)

DAY 6: LUANG PRABANG

Travel to the Kuangsi Waterfalls, visiting a local market en route. Take a short walk through the forest to the waterfall and enjoy the scenery. (B)

DAY 7: DEPART LUANG PRABANG

After check-out this morning you will be transferred to Luang Prabang airport where your arrangements end. (B)
