New Sri Lanka itinerary: Pearl of the Indian Ocean
The 13-day “Pearl of the Indian Ocean” explores seaside towns, beautiful beaches, unique wildlife, stunning waterfalls, World Heritage sites, National Parks and jungles.
Highlights of the journey include the Dutch and Portuguese old colonial town Negombo set beside the Indian Ocean, UNESCO World Heritage listed site; Rock Fortress or ‘Lion Rock’ in the jungle of Sigiriya, St Clair’s waterfalls, a boat ride through the Madu Ganga Wetlands and a visit to the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home that provides care and rehabilitation for orphaned elephants.
There are two departures in 2013, March 23 and September 21 from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and for the first time in 2013 Darwin.
Priced from $4,444 per person (as at 22/10/2012), twin share, the package includes return international economy airfares with Singapore Airlines, accommodation, all meals, local transportation in Sri Lanka, daily tours and entrance fees, an English-speaking National Tour Escort and/or local guides, visa fees for Australian passport holders, taxes and charges. It also includes airline fuel surcharge and tipping, which are subject to change.
