Terelj National Park is located approximately 80km from Ulaanbaatar and is the third largest protected area in Mongolia. Its grassy steppes and forest-covered mountains are a contrast to the Gobi’s desert landscape. The park is also home to nomadic Mongolians, offering you a chance to interact with the local people of Mongolia.
This is a private short stay package for the independent traveller.
DAY 1: ULAANBAATAR TO TERELJ NATIONAL PARK
You will be met at your Ulaanbaatar hotel and transferred to to Terelj National Park. Explore Turtle Rock and enjoy lunch at the Ger camp where you will stay overnight. Hike to Aryabal Monastery and visit a local nomadic family. Optional activities such as horse riding, mountain biking and a Mongolian BBQ class can be organised at your own expense. (L,D)
DAY 2: TERELJ NATIONAL PARK TO ULAANBAATAR
Spend time with the local family and learn about their lifestyle including the preparation of dairy products. Later, return to Ulaanbaatar where upon arrival at your hotel your arrangements end. (B,L)
