Zhangjiajie is famous worldwide for its natural scenery, unique sandstone pillars, pristine waters and a wide variety of species of flora and fauna. Zhangjiajie is a photographer’s dream come true and was the inspiration for the movie Avatar. Combine this area of natural wonder with a visit to Changsha, rich with history including tomb sites and religious temples.

DAY 1: CHANGSHA TO SHAOSHAN
This morning you will be met at your Changsha hotel to travel to Shaoshan, the birthplace of the legendary Mao Zedong.
DAY 2: SHAOSHAN TO CHANGSHA
Enjoy a tour of Shaoshan, visiting Chairman Mao’s childhood family residence and his museum, as well as Dripping Water Cave, where he lived for 11 days during the famous Cultural Revolution. Return to Changsha visiting the historic Tianxin Pavilion en route. (B,L)
DAYS 3-4: CHANGSHA TO ZHANGJIAJIE
Board your train to the Zhangjiajie scenic area. Over the next two days embark on a photographer’s dream journey. Enjoy breathtaking scenery, which offers a mix of spectacular limestone formations, subtropical forests, waterfalls, mountain ranges and majestic valleys. (B)
DAY 5: DEPART ZHANGJIAJIE
