Short Stay itinerary
This is a private short stay package for the independent traveller.
DAY 1: ARRIVE KOLKATA
Make your own way to your Kolkata hotel. The rest of the day is free at your leisure.
DAY 2: KOLKATA
Tour the famous Jain temples followed by the local flower market and the Howrah Bridge, the busiest bridge in the world. Later, drive to the Kali Ma Temple on the banks of the River Ganges followed by a visit to Victoria Memorial. (B,L)
DAY 3: KOLKATA TO BHUBANESWAR
Fly to Bhubaneswar. This afternoon tour the Parasurameswara Temple which was built in 650AD, followed by the Rajarani Temple. (B,L)
DAY 4: BHUBANESWAR
Tour the caves of Udayagiri (Sunrise) and Khandagiri (Broken) hills as well as the rock-cut Hathigumpha (Elephant Cave). Enjoy the afternoon free at your leisure. (B,L)
DAY 5: BHUBANESWAR TO PURI
Travel to Puri, visiting Konark, one of the most important treasures of Hindu India, en route. Tour the 13th-century Sun Temple, followed by the Pipli Village, known for its handmade appliqué work. (B,L)
DAY 6: PURI
Visit Chilika Lake, spread over 1,100sq km. Later, visit the important temples of Gundicha, known as the garden house of the Hindu God Jagannath, Loknath, a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, followed by Sonar Gouranga, Daria Mahabir and the Tota Gopinatt temples. (B,L)
DAY 7: PURI
Visit the 11th-century Jagannath Temple, a holy place for Hindus. Non- Hindus cannot enter, but can view from the library opposite. The afternoon is free at your leisure. (B,L)
DAY 8: PURI TO KOLKATA VIA BHUBANESWAR
After breakfast, depart for Bhubaneswar airport for your flight to Kolkata. Upon arrival in Kolkata, transfer to your hotel to check-in. The remainder of the day is free at your leisure. (B)
DAY 9: DEPART KOLKATA
Your arrangements end after check-out this morning. (B)
