Set high in the Cardamom Hills in the south of Tamil Nadu, Periyar National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary is a well-known protected area for tigers and elephants. You may have the chance to see Indian Elephants, bison, leopards, Barking Deer and Mouse Deer. While the park is open year-round, the best time to view these animals in the mountainous surrounds is from September to May.

DAY 1: KOCHI TO THEKKADY
This morning you will be met at Kochi airport or hotel and transferred (approximately 6-7 hours) to Thekkady where Periyar National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary is located.
DAY 2: THEKKADY
Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Periyar and a walking safari around Periyar National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary. Keep a look out for wildlife such as elephants, bison and wild boar. Periyar is southern India’s most popular national park and wildlife sanctuary and was made part of Project Tiger in 1973. (B,L)
DAY 3: THEKKADY TO KOCHI
Visit a local spice village and market this morning before being transferred back to your Kochi hotel (approximately 6-7 hours) or airport where your arrangements end. (B,L)
