TOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1: PARO TO THIMPHU

Upon arrival at Paro airport you will be met and transferred to your Thimphu hotel. (L,D)

DAY 2: THIMPHU

Enjoy a tour of Thimphu today, including a visit to the mediaeval fortress of Trashi Chhoe Dzong and the Institute for Zorig Chusum (painting school). (B,L,D)

DAY 3: THIMPHU TO PUNAKHA

Drive to Punakha via Dochu La today; if the sky is clear you may be able to view the Himalayan peaks in the distance. After lunch, visit Punakha Dzong and the Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten. (B,L,D)

DAY 4: PUNAKHA - WANGDUE PHODRANG

Enjoy a day tour to Wangdue Phodrang. Stroll around the Old Town and market before viewing the local dzong and Bhutan’s oldest village. (B,L,D)

DAYS 5-6: PUNAKHA TO PARO

Head back to Paro this morning and upon arrival visit Ta Dzong. Walk down a hillside trail to Rinpung Dzong, home of the Paro Festival. (B,L,D) Tomorrow you will visit the Taktshang Monastery, known as ‘Tiger’s Nest’. Return to Paro in the afternoon, visiting Drugyal Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang en route. (B,L,D)

DAY 7: DEPART PARO

After check-out this morning you will be transferred to Paro airport where your arrangements end. (B)
