Wendy Wu Tours is the official representative of the Chongqing Municipality Tourism Bureau

AUSTRALIA’S leading China tour operator, Wendy Wu Tours has been appointed the official representative of the Chongqing Municipality Tourism Bureau for Australia and New Zealand.

Wendy Wu managing director Alan Alcock said in Sydney today that he would be initiating a variety of activities in both countries to promote the Chongqing region and raise awareness of the area to the travelling public.

He said that Chongqing is one of only four municipalities in China, as well as being one of the fastest growing cities in the world.

The municipality covers not only the Chongqing city area – well known as the getting on and off point for Yangtze River cruises – but also much of the Yangtze River Three Gorges region between Qutang Gorge and Wuxia Gorge to the east as well as the Fengdu Ghost City.

To the west, the municipality includes the UNESCO World Heritage listed Dazu Buddhist rock carvings and frescoes. It also includes numerous World Heritage scenic spots and a multitude of Hot Spring resorts within the municipality and as one of the four main ports within mainland China for China Southern Airlines it acts as an important connecting point for a visit to the Panda reserve in Chengdu.

Wendy Wu Tours has carried tens of thousands of Australians to China since the company began operating in the mid-1990’s.
