TOUR ITINERARYDays 1-2: Australia to SaigonFly to Saigon with Singapore Airlines. Upon arrival we are met by our Vietnamese National Escort. Tomorrow visit the Presidential Palace, War Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, Cholon the Chinatown of Saigon, Ben Thanh Markets and Tien Hau Pagoda. Day 3: Saigon - Mekong Delta (My Tho)We visit the Mekong Delta by various boat trips amongst the smaller tributaries to visit local floating markets, villages, home industries and plantations. Day 4: Saigon - Cu Chi Tunnels/Tay NinhExplore the Cu Chi Tunnels before continuing to Tay Ninh to experience the midday service at the head temple of the unique Cao Dai religion. Days 5-6: Saigon to Nha TrangFly to Nha Trang. Enjoy a tour around this seaside town and visit the Cham tower ruins. Tomorrow cruise around the islands off Nha Trang visiting the Tri Nguyen Aquarium, Tam Island and a local fishing village. Days 7-8: Nha Trang to Hoi AnFly to Danang and transfer to Hoi An stopping at the Cham Museum, Marble Mountains and China Beach en route. Tomorrow undertake a walking tour of the old centre of Hoi An. Visit an old merchant home, the Japanese Bridge, Hoi An market and a local Chinese pagoda. The afternoon is at leisure to visit the local tailors. Days 9-10: Hoi An to HueDrive over Hai Van Pass to Hue. Visit the Imperial Citadel this afternoon, the centre piece of the royal empire. Tomorrow visit Hue’s largest market the Dong Ba Market and a cruise on the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda and Days 11-12: Hue to HanoiFly to Hanoi, a charming and richly historic city of lakes and shaded boulevards, some have called it ‘Paris of the Orient’. This evening enjoy a performance of the Water Puppets. Our city tour tomorrow includes visits to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed Sep-Dec), Stilt House and Museum, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature and a walking tour of the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake. Days 13-14: Halong Bay Junk BoatTravel to Halong Bay and commence cruising. Spend the night onboard relaxing and watching the sunset over Halong Bay. The following day continue exploring Halong Bay before returning to the wharf and driving back to Hanoi. Days 15-16: Hanoi to AustraliaBoard our overnight flight to Australia, arriving home the following morning. |
