TOUR ITINERARYDay 1: Australia to SaigonDepart Australia and fly to Saigon. Upon arrival we are met by our Vietnamese National Escort. Day 2: SaigonOur sightseeing includes visits to the Presidential Palace, War Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, Cholon, Ben Thanh Markets and Tien Hau Pagoda. Day 3: Mekong Delta – My ThoWe explore the Mekong Delta by various boat trips amongst the smaller tributaries to visit local floating markets, villages, home industries and plantations. Day 4: Saigon - Cu Chi Tunnels/Tay NinhToday we explore the Cu Chi tunnels, then continue to Tay Ninh to experience the midday service at the head temple of the unique Cao Dai religion. Day 5: Saigon to Nha TrangFly to Nha Trang. This afternoon we will have a sightseeing tour around this seaside town and visit the Cham tower ruins. Day 6: Nha TrangEnjoy a cruise around the islands off Nha Trang visiting the Tri Nguyen Aquarium, Tam Island and a local fishing village. Days 7-8: Nha Trang to Hoi AnFly to Danang and transfer to Hoi An stopping at the Cham Museum en route. The next day we undertake a walking tour of the old centre of Hoi An. We visit an old merchant home, the Japanese Bridge, Hoi An market and a local Chinese pagoda. This afternoon is at leisure to visit the local tailors for which this town is known. Day 9: Hoi An to HueLeaving Hoi An we visit Marble Mountains and China Beach before continuing over the Hai Van Pass to arrive at the ancient capital of Hue. This afternoon visit the UNESCO listed Citadel. Day 10: HueWe take a cruise on the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda and then visit Tu Duc and Khai Dinh Tombs. Day 11: Hue to HanoiVisit Hue’s largest market, the Dong Ba Market, then fly to Hanoi. This evening enjoy a performance of the Water Puppets. Day 12: HanoiOur city tour today includes visits to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, stilt house and museum, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature and a cyclo tour of the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake. Days 13-14: Halong Bay Junk BoatTravel to Halong Bay and commence cruising. Spend the night onboard relaxing and watching the sunset over Halong Bay. The following day continue exploring Halong Bay before returning to the wharf and driving back to Hanoi.
