Visitors will see the best known sights in Beijing, Xian and Shanghai and see the landscape of the Li River’s unique karst mountains and traditional country side around Guilin and Yangshuo. TOUR ITINERARYDay 1: Australia/ShanghaiFly with Qantas to Shanghai, where upon arrival we will transfer to our hotel for 3 nights. Days 2-3: ShanghaiShanghai is known as the ‘Paris of the East’. Experience the city on sightseeing tours of the Shanghai Museum and the famous Bund.This evening is our welcoming banquet of traditional Shanghai cuisine. On the following day visit the Yu Garden and Old Town, the Pudong New Economic Zone, explore the Xintiandi area with its 1920’s style ‘shikumen’ buildings unique to Shanghai. In the evening enjoy a stunning Huangpu River Cruise. Day 4: Shanghai/GuilinEnjoy the morning at leisure before flying to the beautiful city of Guilin and transfering to our hotel. Days 5-6: Li River Cruise/YangshuoRelax on the spectacular Li River Cruise, whilst enjoying the breathtaking views. Spend tonight in the town of Yangshuo. Enjoy the colourful local markets before returning to Guilin the next afternoon. Visit the Reed Flute Caves. Days 7-8: XianVisit Mt Diecai to view the stunning karst landscape before flying to the ancient city of Xian, where we enjoy a traditional Shui Jiao Banquet this evening. On the following day, visit the most important archaeological discovery of the 20th Century, the life-size Terracotta Warriors followed by the Ancient City Wall, one of the few remaining in all of China. This evening enjoy a performance of Tang Dynasty Dancing. Day 9: Xian/BeijingVisit the Little Wild Goose Pagoda, the Shaanxi Provincial Museum and stroll through the lively Muslim Quarter to visit the Great Mosque and explore the interesting Islamic food markets. Afterwards fly to Beijing for 4 nights. Tonight enjoy a sample of the delicious local specialty, ‘Peking Duck’. Days 10-12: BeijingBeijing is a city full of wonders. Our first day of sightseeing includes a visit to famous Tiananmen Square and the treasure filled Forbidden City. Tomorrow take an exciting walk on the Great Wall, and tour the Temple of Heaven. The following morning enjoy a morning rickshaw tour through traditional Hutongs then visit the exquisite Summer Palace in the afternoon. Our evening entertainment will be a fascinating Chinese Acrobatic show. Day 13: Depart BeijingEnjoy a shopping spree at the Silk Markets before boarding our flight to Australia.
