Starting in Hanoi, the ‘Paris of the Orient’, this tour stops in the UNESCO listed old town of Hoi An before finishing in vibrant Saigon. TOUR ITINERARYDay 1: Australia to HanoiFly to Hanoi via Saigon with Vietnam Airlines. Upon arrival we will be met by our Vietnamese National Escort and transferred to our hotel. Day 2: HanoiOur city tour today includes visits to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed Sep-Dec), Stilt House and Museum, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature and a walking tour of the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake. This evening enjoy a performance of the famous Water Puppets. Day 3: Hanoi - Halong BayTravel to Halong Bay and cruise through spectacular scenery whilst enjoying a seafood meal onboard. After our cruise, we travel back to Hanoi through the Red River Delta. Day 4: Hanoi to Hoi AnLeave Hanoi this morning and fly to Danang. Upon arrival transfer to Hoi An stopping at the Cham Museum, Marble Mountains and China Beach en route. This evening enjoy a cooking lesson in one of the local restaurants. Day 5: Hoi AnToday we embark on a walking tour of the old centre of Hoi An. Visit an old merchant home, the Japanese Bridge, Hoi An market and a local Chinese pagoda. The afternoon is free so you have time to visit the tailors for which this town is known. Day 6: Hoi An to SaigonMorning flight to Saigon, upon arrival commence sightseeing of the city visiting Cholon, the Chinatown of Saigon, Thien Hau Pagoda dedicated to the goddess of the sea, Ben Thanh Markets, the Presidential Palace and the War Museum. Day 7: Saigon - Cu Chi TunnelsToday explore the famous Cu Chi Tunnels followed by a visit to Tay Ninh where we experience the midday service at the head temple of the unique Cao Dai religion. Day 8: Mekong Delta/My Tho - Depart SaigonExplore the Mekong Delta, the heart of South Vietnam. We take various boat trips amongst the smaller tributaries to visit local floating markets, villages, home industries and plantations. Returning to Saigon late afternoon we have a late checkout at the hotel before transferring to the airport to board our overnight flight to Australia. Note: Perth passengers flying Singapore Airlines will miss the touring on Day 8 due to flight schedules unless they choose to stay an extra night in Saigon at their own expense.
