TOUR ITINERARYDAY 1: AUSTRALIA TO PHNOM PENHFly with Singapore Airlines to Phnom Penh for a two night stay. Adelaide and Darwin passengers may need to depart one day earlier. DAY 2: PHNOM PENHTour the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, Emerald Buddha and National Museum. Learn about the atrocities of Pol Pot at the emotional Tuol Sleng Museum of Genocidal Crimes and the Killing Fields. End the day watching the sun set from Wat Phnom. DAY 3: PHNOM PENH TO KAMPOTVisit Tonle Bati and the Vineyard Pepper Farm at Kep. Take a boat to Koh Tonsay, also known as Rabbit Island. Enjoy some free time here before you are transferred to Kampot for an overnight stay. DAY 4: KAMPOT TO SIHANOUKVILLESee the cave temple of Phnom Chhnork and enjoy a walking tour through the colonial town of Kampot. Later, travel to Sihanoukville and view the city from Victory Hill. DAY 5: SIHANOUKVILLEThe day is free at your leisure to relax and further explore Sihanoukville. DAY 6: SIHANOUKVILLE TO PHNOM PENHReturn to Phnom Penh, stopping along the way at Kirirom National Park to see its stunning waterfalls and wildlife. DAY 7: PHNOM PENH TO BATTAMBANGDrive to the town of Battambang, stopping at the 17th-century capital of Udong en route. You will also visit Kampong Chhnang Province to see traditional handmade pottery and climb Touch Hill to admire the scenery. DAY 8: BATTAMBANGThis morning take in the views of the Prasat Banan Temple from Phnom Banan Hill. Return to town to stop at a vineyard for wine tasting. Continue to the non-governmental organization, ‘La Maison de Coco’ where we meet with a representative of the organisation and learn more about the weaving skills that the NGO teaches to its students. We will also learn how rice paper is made while walking through the village. DAY 9: BATTAMBANG TO SIEM REAPLeave Battambang and travel to Siem Reap, stopping at the Puok District to visit the National Silk Centre. Learn about silk creation and the harvesting of mulberries before continuing to Siem Reap. DAY 10: SIEM REAPRise early to explore the amazing temples of Angkor, starting with the fabulous Ta Prohm. Continue to Angkor Thom, the Bayon, Elephant Terrace, Terrace of the Leper King and the magnificent Angkor Wat. DAY 11: SIEM REAPTravel by boat to the floating villages on Tonle Sap. Return to Siem Reap and visit Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre before climbing to the summit of Pre Rup in time for sunset. DAY 12: SIEM REAP – BENG MEALEADrive to the lesser visited temple of Beng Mealea. Explore the local markets and visit Artisans Angkor where disadvantaged youth are taught traditional Cambodian handicrafts. This evening enjoy an Apsara dance performance.
