If you are a lover of Indian food, then you will be delighted in discovering the tradition and history behind centuries old cuisine. Travel through Rajasthan and learn about local delicacies, traditional markets, modern-day Indian cuisine and family favourites.
This is a private short stay package for the independent traveller.
DAY 1: ARRIVE DELHI
Make your own way to your Delhi hotel. The rest of the day is free at your leisure.
DAY 2: DELHI
See the Red Fort and Jama Masjid. Sample the local specialty wazwan at Chor Bizzare Restaurant for lunch and this evening visit a local family home for a cooking lesson. (B,L,D)
DAYS 3-4: DELHI TO AGRA
Drive to Agra and visit Agra Fort. This evening sample a wide variety of local kebab dishes. (B,D) Tomorrow, rise early to view the Taj Mahal as the sun is rising. Lunch will be at Dashprakash, a south-Indian specialty restaurant. (B,L)
DAY 5: AGRA TO JAIPUR
Travel to Jaipur, visiting Fatehpur Sikri en route. Stop in Bharatpur for a traditional Rajasthani meal for lunch. Later, visit the home of a rural family before continuing to Jaipur. (B,L)
DAY 5: JAIPUR
Visit Amer Fort, the City Palace and Jantar Mantar. Dinner will be at Shahpura House rooftop restaurant with a live demonstration of Rajasthani cooking. (B,D)
DAYS 7-8: JAIPUR TO JODHPUR
Drive to Jodhpur. (B) Tomorrow, visit Mehrangarh Fort before sampling Marwari and Rajasthani food at a local family home for lunch. This afternoon visit Mandore Gardens and the Sardar Market. (B,L)
DAY 9: JODHPUR TO UDAIPUR
Drive to Udaipur, visiting the Jain temples at Ranakpur en route. Lunch is at Fateh Bagh Ranakpur, a palace serving multi-cuisine dishes. (B,L,D)
DAY 10: UDAIPUR
Visit the City Palace, Jagdish Temple and Sahelion Ki Bari. Later, enjoy a cooking demonstration followed by a cruise on Lake Pichola. (B,L)
DAY 11: DEPART UDAIPUR
After check-out this morning your arrangements end. (B)
