The Tibet Autonomous Region has long fascinated travellers with its remoteness, spirituality and mysticism. This mysterious Buddhist kingdom, locked away high in the Himalaya, offers magnificent monasteries, stunning views of the world’s highest mountain and some of the most likeable people you will ever meet.

TOUR ITINERARY

This is a private short stay package for the independent traveller.

DAY 1: ARRIVE LHASA

Upon arrival at Lhasa airport you will be met and transferred to your Lhasa hotel. This afternoon visit the Barkhor Circuit and see the many pilgrims, market stalls and enjoy the mediaeval atmosphere.

DAY 2: LHASA

Enjoy a tour of the Potala Palace, an architectural wonder towering over the entire city. You will also visit Jokhang Temple, the most sacred and active temple in Tibet. (B,L)

DAY 3: LHASA TO GYANTSE

Travel to Gyantse and visit the Pelkor Monastery and the ruins of the Old Fort. (B,L)

DAY 4: GYANTSE TO SHIGATSE

Leave Gyantse and travel to Shigatse. Visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery, the official residence of the 11th Panchen Lama, who ranks close to the Dalai Lama. (B,L)

DAY 5: SHIGATSE TO LHASA

Depart Shigatse and travel back to Lhasa for your final night in Tibet. (B)

DAY 6: DEPART LHASA

After check-out this morning you will be transferred to Lhasa airport where your arrangements end.(B)

Tibet Permits - Current Government requirements for travel to Tibet means that Tibet permits can only be issued to passengers travelling as a party of 5 or more people of the same nationality with the same entry and exit details. Wendy Wu Tours is not able to issue Tibet permits to parties that do not comply with these mentioned criteria. Tibet permits can only be issued 10 days prior to the entry date into Tibet. Please contact our Reservations Department if you have any questions regarding this.

Note: The Tibet Autonomous Region may be closed by the Chinese authorities at any given time without notice. Such closures may impact the ability to travel in, or to, Tibet.
