Overall a good tour with two seats per person in coach.
Hotels: Good except the one in Chengdu. No aircon was at times hard to sleep as you couldn't open window in rooms and it was rather hot and airless.
Food: Plenty and tasty but no fish to speak of and no desert but just a slice of watermelon.
Guide: Penny was throughout excellent except in Xian, her hometown. There she made us dressed up with cheap chinese sort of shirts and a cheap fan and took us to the main street to stroll with the locals. All was OK until the following day when she told us that the "experience which we couldn't miss" was Y280/each! and she made us be part of the spectacle... it was not proper. She should have told us the short coach transfer and her fees BEFORE she said we couldn't miss it. It was disappointing and many of us weren't happy. The experience was definitely NOT worth the cost.

Victoria Mekong ship is beautiful. The crew are wonderful with very friendly and helpful staff. Cabins are excellent with plenty of storage space - important for 7 days. The food was good with lots of choice. There are plenty of excursions with activities offshore every morning and afternoon. We could have done with more relaxation time looking back but of course you don't have to go on the trips and can stay onboard and relax by the pool with a drink if you prefer.

Picture perfect cherry blossom, lots of tasty food and lovely people which made for a very good trip, fitted so much into the two week holiday. Our guide Koi was great, very organised and kept everyone informed of timings and meeting places.

Had a great time and saw lots of amazing sights; this was my first tour group and will definitely weigh pro's & con's before booking another. On this occasion was part of a good group which made the holiday but in future would book a tour with a more flexible itinerary - especially for meals as felt we missed out on local experience as too many hotel meals. Size of group made it hard for tour guide and didn't feel operation was as slick as expected or enhancing to overall experience.

A most interesting tour which delivered what the brochure promised. The Wendy Wu pre-tour information, however, was out of date with reference to some tour experiences, eg. no food available on the 9 hour train journey north from Kolkata - we were provided with lunch boxes and food could be purchased from vendors who walked through the carriages. Our national guides were very informative, though the India guide was lax in his management style - however, he did put in extra visits which we all appreciated and enjoyed.

China is a hidden gem, the sights are amazing. George Pu the Wendy wu tour guide made this holiday a fantastic experience with his attention to detail and the way he made sure we didn't miss anything

An action packed tour of China, so well organised with excellent accommodation, meals and transport. It included all the famous tourist sites as well as so much more. Can’t recommend it enough particularly our National Guide, Zhang Ru, (Britney).

We have been on numerous river cruises with various companies but this trip was the best by far. Most comfortable and well equipped cabins, terrific food choices, good entertainment, exciting excursions and a brilliant crew and staff.
The beach resort stay was a perfect relaxing end to the holiday. Plenty to do or not, the choice is all yours.

This was the holiday of a lifetime and proved to be excellent value. Everything was perfectly planned and managed by Wendy Wu Tours, from booking onwards. The schedule was jam-packed and we were able to see so many different aspects of China and its long history, accompanied by local guides in each main region who put our experiences in context for us, and our national guide who was with us from start to finish and became a valued friend. I was truly sad to leave this wonderful country.
