Part of Colombia's 'coffee triangle', Armenia is the capital of the Quindio region situated in the heart of the Andes mountains. An area of spectacular natural landscapes, this is one of the best places in the country to discover more about the humble coffee bean. The area is dotted with coffee haciendas where you can learn about the process from picking to packing, with plenty of tastings along the way.

Armenia and its surroundings are also famous for the wax palm, which you can see many of in the Cocora Valley, the national tree of Colombia.
