Vang Vieng’s stunning setting with its dramatic limestone cliff backdrop, has long been its main attraction and combined with its laidback way of life, makes a perfect stop off in this beautiful country.

Vang Vieng sits on the banks of the Nam Song River surrounded by paddy fields and with a backdrop of tree-covered limestone hills. The landscape is typical of karst topography featuring steep rocky cliffs, fissures and caves, which can be explored.

Vang Vieng is located in rural Laos and the area has numerous ethnic minority groups including the Hmong and Khmu. Whilst here you can visit the small villages to meet the local people and learn about a way of life that has changed little over the years.
