Wonderful trip, excellent guides, especially Rabie our main Egyptian guide. The trip incorporated everything we wanted to see in Egypt and Jordan. The hotels and restaurants were great and it will be one of our favourite holidays

My second Wendy Wu tour - Egypt was utterly fantastic. Small group of 14 excellent guides - well thought out itinerary - excellent hotels.
It was an absolute joy to be on board.

Great experience. Trip of a lifetime. Saw loads of interesting things I wanted to see most if my life but disappointed with time at GEM. I had been postponing my trip for the opening and half a hour of free time was not nearly enough. Another hour would have helped and another 2 would have been awesome! Things were a bit rushed in a few places but mostly very enjoyable and I learnt a lot of new things. Ravi was great and full of information and had some interesting theories I had not heard before.

This is a very well organised tour which covers all the main sites in Egypt including a trip to Alexandria and El Alamein. Although there is a packed itinerary we never felt particularly rushed. This was helped by a good group size of 14. Both our national tour guide, Shady, and our Egyptologist, Karim, were excellent and knowledgeable right from beginning to the end of the tour. They helped us negotiate through the general chaos of the airports from obtaining our visas to ensuring we were safely through security checks and checked in for our flights home. Not only did we receive comprehensive information at each historical site but also had many opportunities to discuss what modern day life is like for the Egyptians. There were many highlights on the tour but we particularly enjoyed visiting the newly opened Great Egyptian Museum seeing the Tutankhamen exhibition and entering the incredibly well preserved tomb of Sety I in the Valley of the Kings.
The food was of a good standard throughout our stay but particularly good on the boat where the accommodation was excellent. The only hotel that was probably below the standard we expected was the Hilton in Alexandria which was sadly disappointing and a change from the originally scheduled hotel. You should also be aware that there are a number of very early starts in the day either to ensure seats on an internal flight or to reach a historic site before too many tourists arrived. We did not find this to be a problem but some in our group found these days to be very tiring. We would recommend taking or exchanging some money for small denomination Egyptian pounds to cover drinks and public toilets.
If you have ever wanted to visit Egypt to see and learn about it's culture then we would highly recommend this tour.

We booked this trip following our excellent experience with Wendy Wu trip to China, but part of this Egypt Jordan tour was not up to Wendy Wu standards we expected. We selected this tour as it included both Egypt and Jordan.

Egypt and Jordan experience was like Tale of Two Cities, Jordan part of the tour was excellent with top of class service, restaurants and a superb Guide/Manager and I highly recommend it.
But the Egypt part of the trip was although well organised but lacked Wendy Wu Hallmarks. The main reasons were:
Restaurants selected for lunches and evening meals were mediocre with monotonous menus.
Tour guide/ Egyptologist was very knowledgeable but should have used microphone and audio headphones when we visited various sites and monuments. I am used to listening on headphones and at the same time enjoying the site, monuments etc. rather than concentrating to the guide in close vicinity.
The Egyptian aspect of the tour felt like it was operated by Wings Tour company and not Wendy Wu and I would prefer any other better quality tour operator for the price we paid.
I have given 4 stars only because of Jordan aspect of the tour.

The adventure certainly ticked the boxes of places to visit and the knowledge of the guides in both Egypt and Jordan added significantly to the experience.

Inter-site transport / transfer was well executed which enabled the disparate sites to be accessed smoothly. The cruise environment was very good and the Philae excursion (and meal particularly) was superb.

Jordan was an equally well supported and executed tour. As an extension (in my opinion) Wendy Wu should give thought to offering (even as an optional extra) a flight on the tethered Petra balloon to view the city and environment from altitude - we would certainly have jumped at that opportunity.

The Egypt tour was wonderful. Omar & Mimo were excellent guides and looked after us very well. The Sheraton hotel in Cairo was brilliant and so were the rest of our accommodation, including the cruise ship down the Nile River.
The itinerary was full and I’m glad we were able to get a rest on the ship for an afternoon. I luv the way Wendy Wu organise lots of visits however, a couple of relaxing afternoons or evenings would be great. Overall, I think the tour was well planned, all meals were delicious and I’d definitely recommend Wendy Wu to family and friends. Thanks for the trip of a lifetime.

very well organised

A well organised and planned tour of the key sites in Egypt. Wendy Wu local and National Guides were excellent. Ahmed our local guide ensured everything ran smoothly for us from the moment we landed at Cairo airport. Our hotels, meals and luggage were organised seemlessly and all with a friendly and welcoming smile brilliant.
Faisal Islam, our National Guide ,was extremely knowledgeable about the sites we visited and fitted them into wider historical context for us.Tours and visits were organised to spare us the hottest of the day wherever possible. He also organised everything smoothly for us during our Nile Cruise. He was helpful and made us all feel safe and confident from the moment we met him. He broke up the long journeys to and from Abu Simbel with information and humour.A quality Egyptologist and tour guide.
We were disappointed that the G.E.M. was closed for its opening ceremony when we visited but Faisal made the artifacts remaining in Tahrir Square fascinating for us.

I have run out of superlatives. The trip was outstanding from beginning to end: great organisation on the part of the tour manager; spectacular sights, and an extremely knowledgeable Egyptologist who made sense of the ancient texts and hieroglyphs for us. All involved were very warm and friendly, including the crew on the Nile cruise, which was just perfect. An unforgettable experience.
