Celebrating 25 Years of tour excellence

Launceston is the second major city in Tasmania and is known as a Mecca for food and wine. One of the highlights is the Tamar wine valley region.

Located on the Northern side of Tasmania with a population of just under 111,000 people, Launceston is one of Australia’s oldest cities. It provides its visitors with a perfect mix of historic streetscapes to modern cafes and vineyards.

Thanks to its well-preserved city landscapes dating back to the early 1800’s, it is a great place to admire early colonial and Victorian architecture along with century-old parks. It is also a fitting city for Australia’s largest regional museum, The Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery (QVMAG), housing a collection dating back to 1842. The museum displays Art, History and Natural Science.

The city is not just about history as it is well known for its food, wine and local produce. Fresh local produce and culinary delights are found in abundance. One of its more famous attractions is the Tamar Valley, a premium wine growing region surrounded by lavender fields and orchards. The Tamar Valley is home to over 20 vineyards all found on the famed Tamar Valley wine route that border the Tamar River.
