Travel on the Shatabdi Express train to Amritsar to visit the sacred Golden Temple and discover the ins and out of daily life in this divine city as you visit a local Punjabi family home.
Transfer from your hotel to Delhi's railway station to board the Shatabdi Express for Amritsar. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a two-night stay. In the evening, enjoy a visit to the Golden Temple for the nightly 'Palki Ceremony'.
Today you will be taken on a city tour of Amritsar. Enjoy a warm welcome into a local Punjabi family home, where you will gain insight into daily life whilst delighting in tea and homemade snacks. Go on to visit Durgiana Temple, the nearby local markets and the Golden Temple, the glory of Amritsar. You will also visit the infamous Jallianwala Bagh before returning to your hotel.
Transfer to the railway station and board your return train for Delhi. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to either the airport or hotel where your arrangements end.
The best time to visit India is from November to March when you’ll enjoy pleasant warm dry days and low humidity.

On most tours, you can choose our 'Happy to Share' option, which may enable you to share a twin room with other solo customers of the same gender who also request Happy to Share. If a share partner is found, the Single Supplement will be removed from your booking. If a share partner is not found, the Single Supplement will remain and is payable with your final balance.
If you are booking on a Dedicated Solo departure, a single room is already included in the price and there are no additional single supplements to pay.
