Sea of Galilee

Israel’s largest freshwater lake and the lowest freshwater lake in the world, the Sea of Galilee, or Lake Tiberius, is best known for its prominent role in the Bible’s New Testament.

It is here that Jesus is said to have performed some of his most famous miracles – the feeding of the multitude, calming the storm and walking on water, and the lake is overlooked by the hill that hosted the sermon on the mount.

With its beautiful rural setting amongst agricultural land and banks dotted with archaeological sites, villages and beaches the Sea of Galilee’s beautiful locale makes it a popular destination for tourists and locals alike.
