Taiwan Night Markets

Strolling through night markets is somewhat of a national pastime in Taiwan. Snacking and walking especially is the embodiment of popular culture in this food obsessed region. Put on your comfiest shoes and get walking!  

What mostly started as small collections of food stalls in front of temples or at street corners around 100 years ago, has slowly expanded into some of the largest and most talked about night markets in all of Asia. By visitor numbers, Taipei’s night markets collectively are the country’s most popular tourist attraction! The sheer variety of foods on offer will astound you, in many ways street food is the best way to experience authentic Taiwanese cuisine.
