Cross the broad Río de la Plata by ferry from Buenos Aires. On arrival in Uruguay's easy-going capital, transfer to your hotel and settle in, with the remainder of the day free to get your first taste of the city's relaxed pace and coastal atmosphere.
Get to know Montevideo on a private tour encompassing the capital's historic architecture, leafy neighbourhoods and distinctive waterfront culture. Grand squares and elegant buildings tell the story of Uruguay's past, while the sweeping Río de la Plata shoreline reveals a more relaxed side to the city. This evening, experience a tradition shared across the region as dinner is accompanied by a live tango performance, bringing together local flavours, music and dance.
Travel through the Uruguayan countryside to Colonia del Sacramento, whose beautifully preserved Barrio Histórico is recognised by UNESCO. Portuguese and Spanish influences mingle throughout this enchanting riverside town, seen in its colourful colonial buildings, cobbled lanes and centuries-old ruins. Explore on foot with your guide, passing the old City Gate and lighthouse while uncovering the stories behind one of Uruguay's most historic settlements.
Head into the peaceful Uruguayan countryside for a full-day visit to a boutique winery. Stroll through the vineyards and historic cellars, learning about traditional production methods and the country's distinctive winemaking heritage. Afterwards, sample a selection of locally produced wines during a guided tasting, followed by a gourmet lunch paired with carefully chosen vintages.
After breakfast, transfer to Colonia's ferry terminal and sail back across the Río de la Plata to Buenos Aires.

All of our tours offer a single room supplement, which means you’ll have a room to yourself throughout your chosen tour. Continue the check-out process for the applicable supplement.
On most tours, you can choose our 'Happy to Share' option, which may enable you to share a twin room with other solo customers of the same gender who also request Happy to Share. If a share partner is found, the Single Supplement will be removed from your booking. If a share partner is not found, the Single Supplement will remain and is payable with your final balance.
If you are booking on a Dedicated Solo departure, a single room is already included in the price and there are no additional single supplements to pay.
