When to go

Both Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are best explored in spring and autumn, when temperatures are mild and the landscapes are at their most beautiful. In Uzbekistan, summers are hot, reaching 40°C in cities like Bukhara and Samarkand, making April to early June and September to October the sweet spot for comfortable travel. In Kyrgyzstan, the season stretches from April through to October, with September widely regarded as the finest month of all, offering mild days, cooler evenings, and the first golden colours of autumn sweeping through the valleys.
