As this is an exclusive, one-off departure there are special booking conditions that apply. The details are outlined below. Please take the time to read through the below and contact us for any further information on any aspect of the tour.

 

  • Secure your place on this one-off special tour with a holding deposit of just $99 p.p.
  • The current price quoted is for the land portion of your tour and does not include the cost of flights from Australia
  • When this tour reaches minimum numbers, we will contact you to discuss the additional cost of your flight options
  • If you decide to arrange your own flights, it's important you don't book these until we have made contact to let you know this tour is guaranteed to depart
  • A second deposit of $400 will be required to secure the tour and airfare
  • If flight options and extra costs are not suitable, we understand and will refund your $99 deposit

    Day 1 Arrive Norfolk Island

    Welcome to Norfolk Island. You will be greeted by a Wendy Wu Tours driver and taken to your hotel. Start your evening with a traditional Island Fish Fry, a welcoming Polynesian feast filled with dancing and atmosphere. Afterwards enjoy the first re telling of the island's history, when Bounty Mutineer Descendants first landed on Norfolk on a leisurely coach ride around the Historic area of Kingston. Note: Itinerary inclusions will be the same regardless of day of arrival, however the day on which they occur may vary. Please see more detail in respective tour dossiers.

    Day 2  Discover Norfolk Island & Reef Cruise

    In the morning enjoy an orientation drive through the most important landmarks, with some photo opportunities for our budding photographers. Afterwards enjoy a cruise within the lagoon of Emily and Slaughter Bays. Here you will witness the beautiful coral gardens as you cruise the crystal-clear pristine waters of the lagoon on a glass-bottom boat. In the evening enjoy a traditional island BBQ at a scenic location.

    History & Cuisine
    Day 3  History & Cuisine

    Today begins with a museum exploration within the Kingston Heritage Area. Wander through renovated buildings that date back to the early 1800’s, learning more about the island’s unique settlement history. View archaeological artifacts discovered on the Heritage Kingston and Arthurs Vale historic area (KAVHA) site and uncover their links to the Polynesian 1st settlers and the convict settlers that followed in the late 1700s. For lunch roll up your sleeves and enjoy an exclusive masterclass with Chef Julien Vasseur, an organic cookery advocate who has recently relocated to the Island to establish a new cooking school specialising in paddock to plate cooking. Be one of the first to participate in this interactive and immersive experience. To finish the evening, we have created a fun, interactive experience. Travel back in time and dine at the elegantly restored Georgian house at No.9 Quality Row, right on the beautiful Kingston foreshore. Here you will take part in a real-life game of Cluedo – aptly titled “Who Killed the Surveyor?”

    Characters of Norfolk Island and a High Tea
    Day 4  Characters of Norfolk Island and a High Tea

    Visit famed author Colleen McCullough's beloved property “Out Yenna.” After the success of her cult Aussie novel and subsequent movie ‘The Thorn Birds’ Colleen sought refuge in the tranquillity of her island home. On this exclusive access experience, you will tour the property, and appreciate why this spot inspired creativity for so many of her popular books. Afterwards, enjoy another exclusive event; a private High Tea on the lawns of magnificent Forrester Court, overlooking the stunning views of Cascade Bay. Finish the day with a fun, interactive dinner theatre, where the performers take you on a journey back in time and share the generational stories of times past. The Commandants dinner of traditional English fare and show will leave you in stiches, from food and laughter!

    The main attraction of our visit has arrived! Today you become honoury locals, as you join the pomp and ceremony of the National Holiday – Bounty Day. Venture down to Kingston pier to watch Bounty Mutineer descendants enact the landing of their ancestors. Delight in the festive atmosphere as you follow the procession of the Bounty Mutineer descendants, all dressed in period costume. The highlight today will be a traditional picnic lunch where you can savour the local wettles (food). Evening at leisure.

    Breakfast Bushwalk and Meet the Locals
    Day 6 Breakfast Bushwalk and Meet the Locals

    This morning take part in a relaxed, scenic bushwalk through the National Park. Take in the beauty of the dramatic seascapes, the lush Norfolk Pines towering above and the unique flora and fauna that call the island home. Walk along the Bridle Track to Captain Cook’s Memorial and keep your cameras handy! Breakfast will be served alfresco, BBQ style. In the afternoon embark on a foodie adventure as you meet passionate local farmers and sample their organic produce from delicious fresh honey to fruits and veggies. Dinner tonight is at the Homestead Restaurant, famed for its ‘cooking over embers’ that locks in flavours.

    Garden Tour
    Day 7 Garden Tour

    A personalised garden exploration that will enthral any garden enthusiast. First step behind the scenes of a busy flower market and then venture out to a secluded old Island home and marvel at the beauty and colour of its surrounding gardens, still irrigated by a hand dug well from the convict era. This afternoon will be at leisure before regrouping over dinner.

    Depart Norfolk

    Before your departure today visit the one of Norfolk’s most popular attractions – Fletcher’s Mutiny Cyclorama. A unique 360-degree painting that brings to life the history of the Island and its locals. The remarkable 360-degree view will impress with its realistic artistry. Later this afternoon transfer to the airport.
