Peru Tours

My daughters and I had a fabulous time in Peru. Our guide Luis Velarde Mora was very knowledgeable and imparted information in an interesting way. He chose delightful places to eat, ensuring we had a wide range of local cuisine to enjoy. We suffered a little due to the altitude and he was very attentive to our needs.
The excursions were paced to our needs, acknowledging the higher altitudes.
I went for Machu Picchu, and found a whole lot more that Peru has to offer!
The holiday is geared for 14 days, but that includes the travelling here - we could have done with an extra day in Cusco and Arequipa to really get the feel of the place. Apart from that, highly recommended.

The Panoramic Peru tour was amazing. I went to see Machu Picchu, which was breathtaking, but Peru is so much more. Lima is a great place to explore and the Miraflores district is safe, easy to navigate and our hotel was only 10 minutes from the Pacific. One of my highlights was Ollantaytambo, an Inca royal estate and fortress in the Sacred Valley. Cusco has a beautiful old town, a friendly atmosphere and a proud Inca heritage. The luxury train to Puno, on Lake Titicaca, was a wonderful way to see beautiful landscapes. Boat trips to the floating islands, constructed entirely of reeds, and the traditional island of Taquile were a wonderful way to explore the lake. Other highlights were seeing condors flying in the stunning Colca Canyon and exploring the old town of Arequipa, which is surrounded by volcanoes.
I loved every minute of this tour and must mention our incredible guide Luis Jussyf Velarde. He went over and above to ensure we all had a wonderful experience. He is passionate about his country and his heritage, very knowledgeable and very kind. The perfect combination!

A wonderfully organised tour taking in the most important historical sites and stunning scenery. Very knowledgeable and entertaining guides throughout the tour. Lovely hotels of a high standard and lots of amazing food. All the transport and admission fees organised in advance leaving us free to enjoy all that Peru had to offer.

I love the fact that everything is included, the travel, all our food, tickets into places.
Taken to local restaurants and the food was amazing, every meal I had was delicious. I have coeliac disease and was very anxious that I would be ill as restaurants would not understand but the guide was on top of it making sure at every meal was gluten free.
Very well organised. Local guides where ever we went. Every thing ran smoothly.
There is a lot of travelling. The train journeys were fun and enjoyed with fashion show, food, band and dancing. Loved my time in Peru.

The holiday of a lifetime and the best holiday I have ever had. Peru - the Andes, Machu Picchu, Lamas and Alpacas, Chocolate and Pisco Sour, Lake Titicaca and Floating Islands. Buenos Aires - Tango lessons, Gauchos and horse riding. Rio de Janiero - Christ the Redeemer, Sugar Loaf Mountain, Copacabana Beach, Carnival experience and Samba. The Iguaza Falls were amazing with the option to view them by helicopter and boat - brilliant experiences. Learning about the different cultures and history was fascinating and visiting Indigenous families and sampling their ancient rituals was a privilege. Al the places visited were fantastic and I cannot pick out a favourite - they were all brilliant.

The Hotels and food were all excellent. We sampled lots of different restaurants and cuisine. Dinner was usually in a local restaurant and included great entertainment.

Everything was extremely well organised and it all ran very smoothly, we did not have to worry about a thing. Claudio - our guide for the whole tour - was knowledgeable and passionate. He looked after us extremely well, he was pleasant, friendly, caring, thoughtful and extremely efficient. He worked very hard and attended to every detail. In addition to Claudio there were local guides who specialised in a particular area and they were all brilliant too. Transport was always ready and waiting for us, and all the drivers were pleasant, friendly and helpful.

It was full on and fast paced, lots packed in and so as expected very little downtime. I found it all very exciting and in my view if you are going to travel that far you might as well do as much as possible.

We have lots and lots of photos, many happy memories and have made some lovely new friends.

Fantastic Holiday with Wendy Wu Made even better by our excellent guide Edward without him we would have been stuck in Machupicu for 3 days, he managed somehow to get all 17 of us on the last train out before strike. What a great guy definitely recommend him for anyone looking to tour Peru

An excellent tour of the most magnificent spots in Peru, a country of wonderful culture, cuisine and traditions. The organisation, hotels, meals and transport were all of a high standard. The transition to touring at altitude was made gradually so no significant altitude sickness issues in our group. However, Peruvian tour guide Frank Jare turned the trip from excellent to outstanding. His knowledge, organisation, support and most importantly passion for Peru is what puts Wendy Wu tours ahead of its competitors. Thank you Frank.
