Fly to Peru’s historical and sophisticated capital Lima. You will be met at the airport
and transferred to your hotel where the rest of the day is at leisure.
Embark on a city tour, starting at Huaca Pucllana, a striking remnant of Peru’s old
civilisations, the colonial edifices in the UNESCO-listed Plaza des Armas and the Central Bank Museum. (B)
Fly from Lima to Cusco and transfer to the town of Urubamba set in Peru's famous Sacred Valley. (B)
The next day, explore colonial towns, Incan citadels and beautiful scenery. Visit Pisac's excellent market before seeing the fascinating ruins. (B)
Travel to the typically Incan town of Ollantaytambo. Board the panoramic Vistadome train to travel through the mountainous landscapes to the magnificent Machu Picchu. (B)
The next morning, take a little more time at Machu Picchu before hopping on a return train. Transfer to Cusco, home to an incredible Incan legacy and enjoy an afternoon city tour. (B)
Take a train across the Andean altiplano from Cusco to Puno, on the shores of Lake Titicaca. The train boasts dining cars, a bar car and an observation car. (B,L)
Travel along the shores of the lake and over the border into Bolivia, to the town of
Copacabana. Cruise out to Sun Island and on to Huatajata where you’ll visit the Andean
Roots Eco Village. Later, visit a Kallawayas, a natural healer, before a night time visit to the
Native Observatory Alajpacha. (B,L,D)
Transfer to the city of La Paz, stopping at archaeological site of Tiwanaku en route.
Transfer to the airport and fly to Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt flat. Visit the
Salt Museum and the ancient mummies of Tunupa Volcano before a night in a salt hotel.
The next day, explore Incahuasi Island and its towering cacti before crossing into the
Atacama Desert, arriving in San Pedro de Atacama, Chile! (B,L)
This morning, discover the Salar de Atacama and the quaint desert village of Tocoano. This
afternoon, you’ll see some of San Pedro’s most famous landscapes with a drive out to Death and Moon valleys at sunset. (B,L)
The next day, rise early to visit El Tatio Geysers, set within a ring of volcanoes. Fly to
Chile’s capital city, Santiago. (B,D)
Embark on a city tour of Chile’s vibrant capital, with a lunch of fish fresh from the
morning’s catch. (B,L)
Travel to the coast to visit the manicured seaside resort of Vina del Mar and the
bohemian port town of Valparaiso, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to Santiago via
the rolling hills of Casablanca, a wine region, where you’ll taste some delicious Chilean
Today you’ll embark on a spectacular journey by road from Santiago through the Andes
to the Argentinian city of Mendoza. A lively, laidback and atmospheric city, Mendoza is the
hub of Argentina’s wine region. (B)
Head to Maipu, the heart of Argentina’s most important and oldest wine growing regions to visit some of the region’s most prominent wineries and taste some delicious wines, including Argentina’s most famous red, Malbec. (B)
Take a relaxed city tour of Mendoza before flying to Argentina’s flamboyant capital
Buenos Aires. (B,D)
The next day, explore the vibrant districts of La Boca, San Telmo and Recoleta on a city
tour. Later, enjoy a quintessential Argentine experience; the tango! Enjoy dinner and a
sultry tango show. (B,D)
Spend the day on the vast, fertile grasslands known as the pampas, on a traditional
estancia (ranch). Here you’ll get some insight into the life of folk heroes, the gaucho, and
after a delicious asado lunch, there will be a fun folklore show. (B,L)
Fly north to Puerto Iguazu, to see the incredible Iguazu, a huge waterfall that straddles the border between Argentina and Brazil. Cross the border to explore the Brazilian side of the falls, wandering the paths through lush greenery to numerous smaller cascades. Return to Puerto Iguazu. (B,D)
Today, visit the Argentinian side of Iguazu. Here you’ll get a fantastic showcase of its
power and magnificence, especially as the ‘Garganta del Diablo’! Later, learn about the
indigenous culture of the Mbororé Aldea people, who will open the doors of their
community and share fascinating stories of their ancestors, rituals, myths and legends.
Cross the border for the final time into the Brazilian city of Foz do Iguaçu. Hop on a
plane to Brazil’s ‘Cidade Maravilhosa’, Rio de Janeiro. (B)
Start at the Corcovado, travelling up to the peak by cog train to the spot where the
iconic Christ the Redeemer watches over the city. After lunch, enjoy a city tour and
ascend Sugarloaf Mountain by cable car for breathtaking views over the city, its beaches
and the surrounding bay and islands. (B,L)
Enjoy a free day to enjoy the sights and sounds of the wonderful Rio. This evening,
meet up with the group for a farewell dinner at a vibrant Brazilian steakhouse. (B,D)
This morning after breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Australia, arriving home in 2 days due to crossing the International Date Line once again. (B)
