Upon arrival at Shanghai airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a three night stay.
Travel to Zhujiajiao, a picturesque town with an intricate system of canals, ancient pavilions and overhead bridges. Enjoy time to explore the town before returning to Shanghai later this afternoon to visit the Shanghai Museum and stroll along the Bund. (B,L)
Visit the Yu Gardens, the Old Town, a silk museum and explore the Xintiandi area. Enjoy lunch at Din Tai Fung dumpling house. This evening you will cruise along the Huangpu River. (B,L)
This morning fly to Guilin, one of China’s most beautiful cities, and visit the Seven Star Caves and a pearl museum. (B,L)
Relax on the Li River as you cruise to the town of Yangshuo for a two night stay. Spend the evening walking along the cobblestone streets or relax in a street side café and absorb the colourful atmosphere. (B,L)
This morning explore the beautiful rural countryside around Yangshuo and enjoy the afternoon at your leisure. (B,L)
Return to Guilin by road and fly to Xian, the former imperial capital. This evening feast on a traditional Shui Jiao Dumpling banquet while watching a performance of music and dance dating back to the Tang Dynasty. (B,L,D)
Visit the life sized Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Later, visit the Xian Art Ceramics and Lacquer Exhibition and the ancient City Wall, one of the best preserved in all of China. (B,L)
Explore the Little Wild Goose Pagoda and the Xian Museum. This afternoon, fly to Beijing. (B,L)
Walk through the famous Tiananmen Square, passing Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum, followed by a visit to the Forbidden City. Your afternoon entertainment will be an exciting acrobatics performance. (B,L)
It is often said in Beijing that ‘you have not been to China until you have climbed the Great Wall’. Walk along the wall and admire the views. Later, visit a jade factory and wander through the landscaped beauty of the Summer Palace. (B,L)
Take an interesting rickshaw tour through the traditional Hutong area and visit the 15th century Temple of Heaven. This evening sample the delicious local delicacy, Peking Duck at Quanjude Restaurant. (B,L,D)
Enjoy the day at leisure in Beijing. (B)
After check-out this morning, transfer to Beijing airport where your arrangements end. (B)
